Review:

This is a documentary that I got the chance to see thanks to Lauren from Breaking Glass Pictures. When I was looking at the press release, I realized that this is another documentary from Clive Christopher. I have seen Aliens Uncovered: Invasion and I believe he brings up his trip that is documented in this one. Other than knowing that, I came into this one blind.

Synopsis: Follow Clive and Dan Starkey as they search the skies in Sedona, Arizona for proof of extraterrestrial life. They come up with a theory to help explain odd phenomena that people experience.

That synopsis sums this up fairly well. What is interesting here is that the opening and the ending of this documentary use the same footage. We’re in the vehicle with this duo as they approach a location that is used by Northern Arizona University for research purposes. The ending version is extended.

Now for most of this, they’re discussing a theory that they’ve come up with. There are these unexplained things that are seen in the sky. Their theory is that maybe time travel is involved. It could explain why things appear, from seemingly nowhere, and then disappear once again. When they bring this up, it is an interesting one that could be plausible.

There is another element here where Dan talks about how a dust devil appeared before him. It moved from a ‘hot spot’ and was heading for his truck. His doors were open so he was worried. He called out to it and it stopped. It then came back to the spot where it formed and disappeared. He believes that this could have been the spirit of a nun. Another aspect that this documentary brings up is that the area has a high concentration of hematite stone. That might also factor into an explanation.

It is from there that we shift over to a night where this duo is out in the desert, filming the sky. They bring up that the equipment they're using helps to catch things that maybe the naked eye couldn’t. They point out what are satellites and what are airplanes. They believe there are other things that they recorded that are undisputed proof that there are aliens out there.

Let me then just preface that I don’t necessarily agree that what they’re showing is refutable. I also didn’t necessarily see what they were pointing out. I will just say that I can’t prove anything wrong that they’re saying. I do believe that there has to be aliens out there, somewhere in outer space. I just don’t believe that they have for sure come to Earth. I am open to the evidence though.

I’ll then just say that this is well-made. The images we see do look crisp. I’ll credit the cinematography and framing there. This looks professional done so that’s something else to credit. Starkey and Christopher are so passionate which I do appreciate. My biggest issue is that it gets repetitive. There is a story about a dust devil that we hear twice. It just feels that they didn’t necessarily have enough material for the runtime so they did what they could to pad it out. It does slow it down a bit.

In conclusion, this is a professional-looking and passionately produced documentary that offers an interesting theory regarding potential extraterrestrial activity, particularly due to the unique geology of Sedona. While the passion of Christopher and Starkey is admirable, the film struggles with pacing due to repeated anecdotes, suggesting a lack of sufficient material to justify the runtime. For those who are already open to the idea of UFOs visiting Earth, this will likely be a compelling watch; however, for skeptics, the presented 'proof' may remain debatable, leaving the audience with a well-shot, but ultimately inconclusive, exploration of the unknown.
