Review:

This film begins with a woman conducting a ritual; she is played by Lila Zaborin. Helping her is a male, played by William Bagdad. There is a bunch of young women who are dancing for the ritual as well as African-American male playing bongos. There is also another man who is tied up. To end the ritual, the male who is tied up is sacrificed by the women with spears.

We see that one of these women is played by Leslie McRay. She is dropped off at the house by her boyfriend, Tom Pace. She enters and meets with Zaborin. She asks what another woman is doing and then she is taken into a room to work on her abilities.

Zaborin then meets with two men, Ray Myles and Paul Wilmoth. Myles wants Zaborin to prove to her that she has powers. She breaks his glass of wine with her mind, cutting his hand. Wilmoth produces a handkerchief to whip his hand. He then asks Zaborin to kill an ambassador for the U.N. He states he will be pay her 40,000 rubles, but then she informs him that in order for her to do this, she would need 10x that amount and in United States dollars. He agrees.

McRay and Pace hang out the next day and she convinces him to come to a séance that Zaborin is running. We then see what happens there. Zaborin allows a Native American to take over her body who tells two women to change their plans, because they will die. Her body is then taken over when her aunt who tells another woman to let her father pass on peacefully and to stop fighting, because he will rejoin her mother on the other side. There is then a ghost seen by all in the room.

Pace then decides to meet with a former college professor, played by Victor Izay. They tell him about what happened and Pace states that he really believes that Zaborin is the real deal. He also reveals that he is going back for another ritual. Izay tells him to be careful, because magic is not good or bad, it is all depends on the user.

We then see Zaborin start a ritual. We then see a party where Myles and Wilmoth are watching the ambassador. They are first thinking that Zaborin was a fraud and that they will need to take care of this issue themselves. We then see that the man starts to choke and passes away with heroic efforts failing.

The next day, Myles sends Wilmoth to kill Zaborin, saying that someone that powerful could backfire and hurt them. Zaborin is working with another witch and she sees the past where her ancestor was killed for witchcraft. Wilmoth enters the house and shoots Zaborin three times. The witch she was working with comes in to see what happened and then she is shot. Wilmoth as he is escaping then kills Bagdad with two gunshots.

Izay talks again with the couple and we then see in the past how a witchfinder would torture potential witches until they admitted to be witches, then they would burn them on the stake. He also reveals that the witchfinder didn’t get paid until they proved someone to be a witch.

A black cat comes to Bagdad, commanding him to wake up. The black cat turns into Zaborin and Bagdad stands up as well. Zaborin then uses voodoo dolls to get her revenge on both on Myles and Wilmoth, using the bloody handkerchief to ensure it works on Myles.

Zaborin has another ritual to perform that involves Pace and using a potion to increase their power. Will they succeed in this ritual and will Pace be sacrificed? Can they conjure Satan or whatever demon they are attempting to? Can Zaborin be stopped?

I have to say, this is another film that I came in not knowing much about and you would expect from title, that there would be nudity. This film is actually rated PG, so there is not much in that realm. I have to say that the best part of this film is the music. The beat they play during the rituals is creepy while being something that I really liked. There are other scenes with other songs that really set the tones. The women in this film looked pretty good and they are half naked during rituals which aren’t bad to see. This film does seem to give almost a history of witchcraft as well as showing how some rituals could be carried out as well.

Now my problem with this film is that it really doesn’t have a coherent story. It does follow Zaborin and what she does. It also sets up that there could be subplots, but we don’t really get much after the set-up. An example is that McRay willing kills someone in a ritual, but doesn’t seem bothered by it. It really is a nonfactor. She is actually preparing to kill her boyfriend as well, which would make you think twice, but I guess not. The acting is also not all that good for the most part either. I also didn’t really care for the ending, as it came out of nowhere. The characters that show up are supposed to be experts, but then what they do it really didn’t make sense to me.

With that said, I would not recommend this film. The acting is not that good, the story has a solid set-up, but then it doesn’t build into anything coherent. You would think from the title that nudity maybe in store, but instead the most you get is women that are half naked during a couple rituals. The history of witchcraft and seeing the rituals is pretty good. There just needed to be more in this film and we don’t get anything to make this film into anything more than what it is. There are definitely much better witchcraft films out there to enjoy.

My Rating: 3 out of 10
